What is Scrum?
Scrum is a simple management framework for incremental product development that cuts through complexity to focus on building software that meets business needs, providing the agility needed to respond to rapidly changing requirements. It contains a set of practices and rules that encompasses the transparency, inspection, and adaptation requirements inherent in empirical process control, wrapping existing engineering practices, development methodologies, or standards.
Scrum enables people to work together effectively to produce complex, sophisticated products. Scrum teams, which are self-organizing, multi-disciplinary, develop products incrementally and empirically. They structure work in fixed length iterations, typically 1 to 4 weeks. During each iteration, the team attempts to build a potentially shippable (well tested) product increment so that the desired product “grows” with new high business value features.
